Indiana lady, 19, killed after backseat passenger fires AR-15-style rifle in automobile, police say

An Indiana lady was shot and killed last week whereas driving her automobile, allegedly by a passenger who police say fired an AR-15-style rifle whereas he was sitting behind her in her car.

Annalysa McMillan, 19, was driving three individuals — together with Austin Mark Smith, 22 — round Marion on Tuesday when she died, investigators stated.

The opposite two passengers McMillan was driving, ages 18 and 19, weren’t injured within the incident.

Mark Atkinson, lead pastor of Eastview Wesleyan Church in Gas City, the place McMillan was from, told WXIN McMillan had simply celebrated her birthday 5 days previous to her dying. He stated the girl’s final textual content message “to her stepfather was that she liked him and, these issues are glued to carry tight when every part is attempting to blow you aside.”

Smith was charged with prison recklessness with a lethal weapon and reckless murder, in accordance with the police division. As of Sunday, he was being held within the Grant County Jail.
